BYU JERUSALEM STUDY ABROAD
WINTER 1978 GROUP

Shalom - Salaam Peace be unto you... Welcome to the January--June 1978 BYU-Jerusalem Study Group Website!

This website is produced and maintained for the alumni of the Brigham Young University Semester Abroad Jerusalem group of Winter 1978. The group traveled together to Paris, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Greece and England, learning much about the lands they visited and bonding as a family under the fatherly guidance of their director, Dr. S. Kent Brown of Brigham Young University. Dr. Brown serves as director of several scholarly religious programs, is an author and expert in ancient scripture and Coptic, and continues to lead this group and others with his friendship, wisdom, scholarly work and writings.

Proposed Reunion in Utah

Shalom and Salam Dear BYU Jerusalem 1978 Group:

A get-together is being planned for August 19th (During BYU Education Week) in Provo (or Salt Lake City) Utah. Time and location are still to be determined. If you are interested in attending, please contact Leslie and she will get back with you about the specifics. Leslie's email is LESMCGOWAN@aol.com

Proposed Group Reunion in israel 2011

Dear Jerusalem Family,

Brother Brown is in the midst of arranging for a reunion tour of Israel for June 2011. We hope that you are able to join us for this fabulous adventure. The itinerary is almost tied down (more on that later). The discussions have now focused on the best dates to leave and return. Here is one promising option:

Wednesday, June 8, 2011 – depart USA for Israel

Friday, June 17, 2011 – return to USA

Another option:

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 – depart USA for Israel

Friday, July 8, 2011 – return to USA

We might be able to extend the date to a Saturday return to the USA.

What we need from you is (1) a clear indication whether you intend to join the tour, and (2) a clear notice whether the above dates work well for you.

May we receive your response by Wednesday, August 4, 2010? We are sorry to press for a response. But your responses will tell us a lot about the feasibility of the tour.

Thanks to all of you. We look forward to seeing you in Jerusalem next year!

The proposed start dates of the trip are June 8 and June 29. We need your speedy reply to select the date and get a preliminary count of participants. Please contact Paula at paulanielson@ca.rr.com or jerusalem@nielsonpi.com .
